Playing shuttlecock during the break.
The Community Chinese Class started today for Term 3. Our Chinese teachers were very excited to see the students who had come back from the school holiday. Students came to the class with great enthusiasm. A few students were not able to attend the first class because they caught a cold. We hope they can get better soon and join our next lesson. I would also like to welcome our new student Emma who just joins our beginning class this term. She has completed her first Chinese lesson with confidence saying "nihao" and "zaijian" to her teacher and classmates. She also has learned about the tones and "hanzi" of Chinese Mandarin language. The new school term starts again! The Chinese teachers involved in Bendigo Senior Secondary College Confucius Classroom Program were having their second planning session this afternoon. The meeting was very successful with everyone actively sharing their ideas of teaching Chinese and giving specific comments on improving a certain activity. Every teacher expressed that they had learned a lot from each other and we're looking forward to the next reflection and sharing session in a few weeks. It is sad to say goodbye to our lovely colleagues, but our two Chinese teachers, Ms Zhang Yi and Ms Piao Ye will leave Australia for their school on Sunday, 8th September. To farewell Ms Zhang and Ms Piao, BSSC and other relevant schools have prepared different forms of activities and events to acknowledge their effort and support.
Ms Zhang Yi and Ms Piao Ye are from one of the BSSC’s sister schools, Haimen Dongzhou Middle School, They came to Bendigo last year and have since provided support for the Confucius Classroom Program (CC Program) in many ways. They have been a great asset to both the CC program and the International team. They undertook Chinese lesson delivery in three primary schools, two secondary colleges and the community classes. They also support every cultural event of CC program and International Team. We appreciate and value every effort they have made to the success the CC program and wish them all the best when they get home. |
