Instead of focusing on wrapping, the majority of Taichi students want to start by preparing the fillings. “I would like to make dumplings for my grandchildren.” Zany said.
The Chinese teacher prepared beef mince, water chestnuts, spring onions and various seasonings. Together, they chopped spring onions, water chestnuts, mixed the stuffing in clockwise direction, as well as made the dipping sauce with soy sauce, vinegar and, of course, Laoganma (a famous spicy chilli sauce). The students also exchanged tips on how to make dumplings without revealing the stuffing, as well as different ways of wrapping.
At the end of the social gathering, each student received a DVD "Follow me: Chinese Dumplings" as a gift from Bendigo's Confucius classroom.
It is reported that, there are more than 30 students has joined the Taichi learning and practice session which runs by Bendigo Senior Secondary College Confucius Classroom since 2014.
